hen, stag & corporate- do's

At Belsay shooting ground we love to host clay pigeon shooting for your special occasion! We’ve always enjoyed these events, the customers are always in high spirits and they’re very enjoyable to teach.

We treat hen and stag parties slightly differently during the shoot. We realise that often parties are on a fairly strict diary and most people just want to have a quick blast of a shotgun and get to the pub.

The day consists of three main stages:

Coffee Bean

Safety Briefing

The day starts with a Greeting and a safety briefing. We also cover the basics functions of a shotgun.

Coffee Bean

Sitting Targets

We then move to shooting at sitting targets, we think it’s very important that first time shooters learn to line up the gun and shoot straight before shooting at moving targets. You will shoot at 5 clays.

Coffee Bean

Mini Competition

After that it moves onto a mini competition.
There will be 4 pegs to shoot on and each peg will have 5 targets for a 20 bird sporting.

We encourage parties to bring their own prizes for the event, usually 1st 2nd and 3rd. They can be daft prizes like winner has to buy the first round at the bar!

Costs are £60 per head. This covers all the costs. For every 5 shooters we have to employ a instructor to help keep the day safe and fast paced.

Each shooter gets 25 clays, 25 cartridges, shotgun hire and tuition.
